Karen is a Functional Medicine Dietitian specializing in GI disorders and diseases related to the gut microbiome. Her consultations includes the assessment, intervention and treatment of chronic illness or disease using nutrition. Karen will guide you in preventing, controlling or reversing your medical condition in a natural way. She takes an integrative approach to nutrition by combining cutting-edge medical nutrition therapies along with traditional, time-proven natural methods. A registered dietitian is a nutrition expert that has met the minimum academic and professional requirements to qualify for the credential “RDN”. Those minimum requirements are:
- A bachelor’s degree in nutrition from an accredited university.
- Complete an accredited supervised internship (9 months to 1 year).
- Pass a national exam.
- Complete continuing education requirements to maintain registration.
There are no requirements to be a nutritionist. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist.
